Coloured carbon tails
We've been getting some really positive feedback regarding our new coloured carbon patches. They not only add a little colour to your board but also minimize depressions and cracking around the tail where all the pressure from your back foot goes, and all without compromising the natural flex of the tail. Colour match logos and Futures plugs with the tail colour to add another dynamic to the look of your board. Ask about our coloured carbon patches when ordering your next Simmo...

Surfing Life board test
This year marks the first time for Simmo shapes to get involved with a Magazine board test. The details involved two specialist riders, Ryan Callinan and Heath Joske along with Nick Carroll to test the boards in some of the best waves in the world, Telo Island. With this in mind the decision on which model to build from our range was easy, the 'Bender' model. This is one of the boards developed closely with Jay Phillips for exactly that, high performance surfing in good waves. From all reports the board was 'one of the top performers'. Read all about it when the Surfing Life magazine goes to print early in the new year.

New Measurements Ribbon
Something new for Simmo Surfboard in 2013 is our new measurements ribbon. We stewed on this for quite a while, wanting something to set us apart from the rest which provided a uniform layout for the boards information and model logo. In the end we settled with a simple, yet timeless design which can be easily recognised and associated with our label. Keep an eye out for the ribbon containing all the boards information.

On Location: Indonesia
A few pics from a recent trip over seas. Waves were pretty much pumping, as you would expect, and perfect opportunity to put some boards through their paces. Most of the shots below were riding the Q3 model(details will be on the website in the coming weeks). Included in the quiver was a Bender, and one of the new models in the works called the 'Mind-Bender'(a shorter and more versatile version of the Bender which will be released soon).

Slash N Burn teaser
In search of the ultimate all rounder comes a new board model we have been working on, 'Slash N Burn'. The prototype of this model made for team guy Jay Phillips, sat neglected in at the factory for about a month before he finally picked it up and got it under foot, afterwards stating he couldn't get off the thing! Featuring high speed and manoeuvrability is all you need to know for now... After all, this is only the teaser.

In the making: Coloured Resin
A few pics of some resin tints in the making... you'd be surprised at how much extra work goes into coloured resin boards, but well worth the results in the end.

Garage Gem days
There's been some perfect days to break out the Garage Gem on the Gold Coast lately. Matt Neilsen sent through these shots with some feedback on his board..."I have been riding my GG a lot. I've had so many good sessions on that model. You can just get it so tight in the pocket on your
turns, and then i guess that tail rocker and V combination just releases so
good out of the top."
Matty rides his Garage Gem at 5'10"x19 3/4"x 2 3/8" which is 4' shorter and 3/4" wider than his standard shortboard.
